I can't say that The Reef is a perfect, realistic shark movie but it comes very close. It is also the first one I have seen so far where humans are bare in the water and not supported by a boat (Jaws (1975)) or a cage (47 Meters Down (2017)), for instance. It keeps the suspense throughout, making you guess a shark entry here or a panic attack there.
