I've never wanted a psychopathic murderer to win more.

sic combined with intense, colorful lighting creates an atmosphere that already feels unsettling and pushes it even further. *** Mild SPOILERS from here *** The setup itself sounds familiar: a detective hunting down a serial killer. Nothing new at first glance. But Devils separates itself by adding a body-switching angle to the story. Because of that, you’re not only rooting for the protagonist to catch the killer — you’re also constantly worried that he might end up being exposed as the killer himself. I really liked the core idea: sometimes you have to become a devil to catch one. Of course, things don’t go according to plan — and in the end, people get burned and innocent lives are dragged into it. I honestly felt sorry for one of the characters. Overall, I had a really good time with this movie. I’d definitely recommend it.
