Three young men decide to make easy money by mass kidnapping. After careful preparations, they hijack the school bus and take 26 children and the driver as hostages. However, the bravery and the wit of the old driver could spoil their plan for the perfect crime.

Ultimately, authorities arrested the Schoenfeld brothers, James & Richard & its ringleader, Frederick Newhall Woods IV who were pleaded guilty in 1977 to kidnapping with bodily harm & received life sentences & then eventually granted parole. Richard Schoenfeld was released in 2012, James Schoenfeld in 2015, & Frederick Woods in August 2022.
